REGEN Energy Solutions (Pty) Ltd was founded with the explicit focus of
providing tailored energy solutions to a vast network of clients which was
established over many years throughout the African continent. We also
established relationships with industry leading suppliers as partners to enable
and complement our own ability to design and implement these solutions. Our
skillset includes relevant qualification and considerable experience in
consulting and project delivery services gained on delivering multi-million
dollar tailor made solutions internationally to the benefit of all stakeholders.

Services
The directors identified extreme demand for energy stability and cost control
solutions due to instability of the national grid, international environmental
demands to curb carbon emissions and operational instability with resultant
financial risk due to theft of traditional diesel and battery energy storage
technology as deployed at present.
This was the inspiration for establishing the new venture Regen Energy
Solutions (Pty) Ltd to assist our historic client base of many years with focus
on Energy Solutions.
Directors
Lex Pienaar obtained his national diploma in electronics in 1977 and spent
years in component level design and repair of IT systems, switch mode power
supplies and backup technologies. He obtained an MDP in 1983 and ventured
into business as technical director of the Trading Desk (Pty) Ltd (1991) and
later as Founder, Chairman and CEO of MERIT Technology Solutions (Pty) Ltd
(2000) a company providing Information Technology Consulting services and
staff contracted to listed financial institutions.
Lex subsequently divested from Merit-ts and obtained the degree Magister
Technologiae (M-Tech) in Electrical Engineering at Tshwane University of
Technology May 2017.
His research investigated Distributed Electricity Generation in conjunction with
Energy Storage Technologies for Impressed Current Cathodic Protection on
remote off grid locations for a regional Water Utility. He gained an in depth
understanding of power generation technologies including renewable energy,
hydrogen fuel cells, thermal electric generators and advances in battery and
capacitor technologies to be deployed in hybrid and standalone configurations.
Lex also developed a Dead Grid Safety Lock to cater for ant-islanding in grid
failure situations on commission of our national power utility.
Dawid Sadie spent many years with IBM delivering service to clients as the
IBM flying territory engineer and later IBM tech support specialist until 1983.
He then moved to technical support management of the Persetel technical
service engineers and obtained his MDP management qualification through
UNISA in 1997.
Dawid changed career to Project Management in 1998 to deliver international
IT projects valued up to $116m (World Bank funding) for Business Connexion
(BCX – largest listed SA ICT company). He obtained various PM certifications
in subsequent years and was awarded the BCX project of the year award in 2005. The projects included Video Conferencing infrastructure deployment to
all 600 municipal areas in Ethiopia and building of 6 new client data centers in
other countries for BCX during this 15 year period.
In 2013 Dawid initiated investigation of alternative energy solutions for BCX
internal purposes as well as inclusion and deployment in customer contracts
under the company Chief Technology Officer. He subsequently left BCX in
2015 after a period of 30 years of uninterrupted service through several
company name and management changes and ventured into consulting and
contracting to further this interest.
